Wellspring Ministries In a society of doers, service seems to be just that, doing. It is the outlet of all Christians to “strut their stuff.” Many people go to church with this desire to do some sort of service. Service is vital not only to the church, but to the Christian journey. But do we really know what service entails? Is it merely the “do’s” of the Christian faith? Concerning service, Jesus says: “43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:43-45). Service for Jesus meant giving his life. It was further exemplified by Jesus Christ himself, who took the very form of a servant and humbled himself to death (Philippians 2:5-11).
Ministry then, is simply acting out the servant-heart both pragmatically and logistically. But ministry, at the very core, still maintains the servant's perspective. Thus, we know that in the end, God does not "need" servants. Instead, God invites us to join with Him in the advancement of the Kingdom, and that is the call of ministry.
We are excited to have so many men and women who have this same passion to serve God's people and Christ's Kingdom. And as you review this list, please realize that in no way is this list of ministries meant to be exhaustive. Rather, it is meant to be a beginning point, a place where people can grow and learn and yes, serve. So if you are interested in any of these areas of ministry, or maybe a ministry that you are interested in is not listed, we invite you to contact any member of Wellspring who will put you in touch with the right people. Thanks for considering serving Wellspring and Christ's Kingdom! |
