In 2003, I had the pleasure of helping out at Kijabe hospital in Kenya for an entire month. What I saw there in terms of the beauty of Gods creation and what He was doing in the midst of all these sick people was so awesome that, I can honestly say that was one of the happiest times of my life. However, the details of that trip are for a different conversation over a hot cup of joe.
I’m writing you today because I want to go to Africa again but I can not do it alone. I need your prayers…desperately.
When I first heard about the 2008 Mozambique trip, I thought there was not a hairballs of a chance that I would go. It didn’t seem to gel with what God has been doing in this stage of my life. However, God firmly told me that he wanted me to go.
I am the type of person, who is so stubborn that when God opens the door and I rarely walk through whistling Dixie. Usually, he has to kick me through the door while I kick and scream holding onto complacency. Knowing what would happen if I refused, I decided to do the next best annoying thing to God. I decided to put, fleece after fleece in front of God. To my surprise / somewhat dismay, He kept on passing my “tests.”
So here I am going in September 9-27 with 7 other people from Wellspring Church to Mozambique and South Africa to help out the local nurses as well as with an orphan day care center. It is obvious that as a team, we are totally inadequate and lacking.
This is where you come in. I desperately need the prayers of the Saints, which is YOU! Please pray for us. How can God answer prayers that are never prayed? He can deal with all this stuff without us. But it seems that He tends to do so much more when His people pray.
If I can ask for three things, this is what they would be:
